Dickow pumps handle temperatures of up to 500°C
31 Mar 2025

Alexander Hammer, MD of Dickow Pumpen Gmbh & Co. KG, explains in a recent article how Dickow magnetically coupled centrifugal pumps are being used for heat transfer fluid in Concentrated Solar Thermal (CST) energy generation. The heat transfer fluid used is a thermal oil that typically operates at 460°C.
The pumps used are a new development from Dickow that are magnetically-coupled and self-venting, and specifically developed for heat transfer applications. They have the ability to handle temperatures of up to 500°C and pressures of 50 bar reliably in continuous operation without external cooling.
More details of this application can be found in the PDF document here.
